7 Card Stud: Basics
7 Card Stud a is hole card game that can be played against 2 to 10 opponents. Each player is dealt two face-down cards and one card dealt face up (and therefore visible to your opponents). The player with the lowest up card must "bring in" - a designated amount that serves as an ante - and the game begins from that player in a clockwise direction.
Players can raise, check or fold on each subsequent betting round marked by the addition of another card to player's hands. There are four additional cards (to make seven in total at the end) dealt; they are known as fourth street, fifth street, sixth street and seventh street/river repsectively. After the seventh card/river is dealt the showdown follows to determine the winner of the pot. The normal poker hands apply.
